About Crossroads Tendring & Colchester

Crossroads Tendring & Colchester are a Registered Charity which started in April 1994 with the purpose to provide care within the community. The first Crossroads came about from a fan of Crossroads Motel the TV series, a donation was made of £10,000 to start the charity with a view of giving respite breaks to carers. We are an approved provider of Essex County Council.

Aims of the Organisation:

Crossroads is a specialist charity organisation providing support to carers in their own home, giving carers “time” to be themselves.

Crossroads Tendring & Colchester is an independent unincorporated charity Registration No: 1103860 whose geographic area of service provision is the Tendring and Colchester District

Objectives of the Organisation:

Crossroads is committed to providing practical support in the home in order to enable carers to have a break from their caring responsibilities.  In providing this service to carers, Crossroads may provide a personal care service to people with care needs (service user) and will ensure that the provision of such personal care is user led.

Charitable Objectives

“To relieve the stresses experienced by carers, and children and adults who have care needs as a result of disability, illness or age, by offering a respite service through the provision of community based support workers.”

“I can have a laugh with my Community Support Worker, it cheers me up.”
